Temporary sacrifice….

We are bombarded daily with the bad news of our shaky economy.  I’m thinking of it as a temporary sacrifice.  It was brought to my attention that I should raise my prices because I haven’t since 2007. That’s one of my temporary sacrifices.  I’m looking out for my clients and their recession issues.

I haven’t had an assistant for a few months.  I consider this only a minor temporary sacrifice because it is keeping me in training for the Redken Hair Color Certification exam in October, 2009.  As a 20 year veteran, my clients will have me applying they’re hair color, a task often handed to an assistant. It’s all part of my test preparation and once I pass this prestigious exam, I will be placed above my peers in an elite category of salon professionals.  A title held by only about 1500 Redken Certified Hair Colorists in the US and many of them are Redken Educators and Platform Artists. The exam is a technical, multiple choice, and essay assessment proving scientific and practical knowledge of all Redken Hair Color.

Upcoming education events:
Redken Hands On Hair Color Correction April, 2009. This will be a good refresher for me to keep my hair color “chops up.”  When you’ve been saving money by retouching you own hair color, I’ll be reminded of the best method to fix it.  I will have my memory refreshed on the best formula and method to achieve a color fix.  Maybe your color is to dark, to light, to red, to gold, to dull, or to dead!  I’m all over it in the least amount of processes time, but with the most experience.

Hope to see you soon.
